Streltsov
Dmitry Streltsov was always fascinated by the beauty of “men toys” – custom knives, rugged jewelry, and EDC accessories. He wanted to create some of those things himself. So, in 2009 he started his journey as a maker of titanium tactical pens, jewelry, and accessories.
When asked “Why titanium?” he would answer “It’s simple. I didn’t have any experience with any material so I chose this one to learn. I just liked how it sounded – “made of titanium!”. Of course, I also considered its properties – strong, light, corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic – you can make things from it that would last forever”.
Today, Streltsov P&A (Pens & Accessories) brand is a team of different kinds of craftsmen who produce lanyard beads, belts, walking sticks, rings, cufflinks, bracelets, and other accessories. However, pens are the main product of the manufacturer, which Streltsov is especially proud of.
Dmitry Streltsov uses computer-controlled, CNC, manual lathes, and also 3D metal printing technologies for his production.
Anodizing, chemical etching, shagreen, textured ornaments, DLC, jewelry (looks particularly cool in conceptional batch “Paleolithic”) are used for the finishing of the items. Polishing, engraving, and decorating objects with gems is always a long and meticulous manual work.
The artistic and jewelry approach to working with titanium distinguishes Streltsov and his team from the competitors. This metal is very resistant to machining. For example, to apply a pattern on a titanium surface you will have to change an engraver three times more often than when doing the same job on silver. All products from Streltsov P&A are themed. The author draws his inspiration from 20th-century world aviation and Japanese medieval culture.
One of the most popular Streltsov’s pens is model “Ace” dedicated to the great aviators of the past. In stock variant pen’s body, finishing mimics aircraft skin of the old fighter jet. Limited editions are adorned with engraving with Nordic, military, marine, and other themes.
“Kamikaze” model with a modular system is also well-known. You can adjust the length of these products by removing or adding blocks. These items with their shape resemble a bamboo stem. They usually get ornamented in Japanese style.
The “Icebreaker” model is widely popular, limited batches of which feature various finishes: monochrome and anodizing, abstract textures, characters, or whole plot compositions.
Streltsov was one of the first one to use titanium for household aesthetic needs on the market of authors’ accessories. In the world of custom pens, there are still very few people who can compete with Streltsov in the whole World.
Streltsov P&A workshop (Streltsov Pens & Accessories) has representative offices in Japan and the United Arab Emirates. For clients from those countries, Streltsov produces limited batches with a number of features in design and finishing.
In our BestBlades shop only mainly limited-edition products with conceptual finishes are presented. They have not only aesthetic but collectible value.
